Courtney's

Vars is soveel beter!

* Hoe sê jy arugula in Afrikaans?

Courtney's is a local grocery in the Castro neighborhood of San Francisco. It's really small, but has a great variety of products. I sometimes buy fresh orange juice and/or ginger carrot juice, but on Monday a friend recommended the cold sandwiches.

Yesterday, I ate a gardenburger sandwich for lunch. It was great! It had whole wheat bread, Swiss chard, arugula*, red onions, cherry tomatoes, avocado, and Dijon mustard. All the ingredients were very fresh and delicious. It was one of the best sandwiches that I've eaten. Fresh is so much better!

* How do you say arugula in Afrikaans?

Die toebroodtjie klink heerlik!

Arugula is known as "rocket" in English in RSA (and UK, Australia, etc.) but I am pretty sure you wouldn't call it "vuurpyl", haha. Not sure what the Afrikaans word for it is though.

Dankie Jerome, ek leer nuwe dinge elke dag!
